High Output LED Filament Retrofit Bulbs

High output LED filament retrofit bulbs are made to match the shape of traditional metal halide (MH) and high pressure sodium (HPS) bulbs, including ED17, ED23, and ED28s. These retrofit lamps offer the benefits of LED technology while providing a similar look and feel to traditional lamps, making them an attractive option for those who prefer the aesthetic of MH/HPS lamps.

Because these lights are designed to so closely match the appearance of the ED-shaped bulbs they are replacing, you won't be able to tell much of a difference between fixtures that have been retrofitted and those that haven't. This makes them ideal for retrofitting a few fixtures at a time. Use these retrofit lamps in wall packs, high bays, shoebox fixtures, security lighting, and other similar applications.

Benefits of High Output Filament Lamps

One of the main advantages of LED filament retrofit lamps is that they are highly energy efficient. LED lamps uses less energy than traditional lamps to provide the same amount of light output, meaning that LED retrofit lights can help to reduce energy costs over time. Additionally, LED lamps have a longer lifespan than traditional bulbs, which means they require less frequent replacement.

These high output LED retrofit lamps also operate directly off the fixture's line voltage, meaning that the ballast must be removed (or bypassed) during installation. This eliminates ballast compatibility issues and maintenance costs, while also reducing the fixture's overall wattage. Bypassing the ballast also removes a potential failure point from the fixture.

Color Temperature Options

High output LED filament light bulbs are available in multiple color temperature options, ranging from 2200 Kelvin to 5000 Kelvin. Retrofit lamps with a 2200 Kelvin deliver a light similar in color HPS bulbs, making them an ideal choice for anyone wanting to replicate the look of traditional lighting. For a warm light similar to halogens, look for 3000 Kelvin lights. For areas that need a cooler, brighter light that requires better visibility, choose lamps with a cool white 4000 Kelvin or daylight 5000 Kelvin color temperatures.

When selecting LED retrofit lamps, be sure to check the dimensions. LED lamp size can vary, with higher wattage bulbs being larger than some traditional lights. Some lamps may also requite a minimum compartment size. We strongly recommend measuring the inside of your fixture to ensure the bulb will fit and that there is adequate space for proper heat dissipation.
