Self-testing internal components make sure the alarm is always operating as intended. However, it is recommended that a weekly test be performed using the test button. Ten years after this device has been activated, an automatic audible end-of-life notification will alert you that it is time to replace this device.

Powered by 120V AC, two AA replaceable backup batteries are included for continual detection, even during outages. The loud 85 dB alarm announces verbally which hazard is detected. Interconnectable with up to 24 devices (see User Guide for complete list of compatible interconnectable devices). When one hardwired interconnect unit sounds an alarm, all other compatible interconnected units will also alarm.
